The name Basilious is a Greek in origin meaning (Kingdom or King) and Bastet is not a part of the Basilious’ name. Dr. Sam H. Botros Basilious is the founder and medical director. He in practice for over 24 years. He graduated from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assuit University, Egypt in 1980. After his graduation, he practiced Clinical Pathology in Diagnostic Medical Labs, Mixed Practice, then moved to Practice in Mixed and Small Animal for five years. Later he moved to the United States. Dr. Basilious passed his boards, then worked for School of Medicine, Animal Medicine Division (UCLA) as an Associate Clinical Veterinarian before he moved on to his Private Practice. Dr. Basilious practiced in Southern California until he decided Opening the Bastet Cat Hospital in 1997.
