Cat Food, Diet, and Disease Management

Veterinary Diet or Prescrition diet is classified as a drug, or prescription medicine. The diet usually is dispensed or prescriped by a licensed veterinarian for your cat after reviewing the lab results of your cat (blood and Urinalysis). It’s against the law to dispense Rx diet without an examination. For the best interest of your cat do not initaite diet change without consulting with your veterinarian. Geriatric cats (7 years and older) need bianual physical exam and follow up with the doctor especially if your cat was diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure (CRF), Hyperthyroidism, Hypertension (High Blood Pressure), or any condition that the doctor recommends more frequent check ups.
